On 30th October 2025, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme. Students of the 3rd Semester from Haneefa Nursing College attended the programme and took part in an informative session on breast cancer awareness and prevention.

The session was delivered by Dr. Shabnum Bashir, who highlighted the importance of early detection, breast self-examination, and the timely management of breast cancer. Through her talk, the students gained valuable insight into recognising the early signs and symptoms of the disease and understanding the vital role nurses play in promoting awareness and preventive care within the community.

The programme proved to be an informative and enriching learning experience for the students of Haneefa Nursing College, reinforcing the college’s commitment to holistic, community-focused nursing education. We extend our sincere thanks to the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, GMC Baramulla, and to Dr. Shabnum Bashir for an insightful and meaningful session.
